John C. Hunter has extensive experience in both government and private practice, having served as Legal Counsel to the Governor of North Carolina, as the first General Counsel to the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources and as Special Counsel to the North Carolina House of Representatives.

In private practice Mr. Hunter has successfully represented businesses, local governments, trade associations, non-profits and individuals both in court and before governmental agencies, tribunals and officials. His clients include financial institutions, major tourism-related businesses, developers, a national trade association, local governments in the area, numerous area businesses, industries, families and individuals.
